The most common reason for this, is that there is likely a set limit on the volume threshold. In order to control your volume, the limit must be reset.
1. Go to sonos app, click on the settings icon.
2. Click on the 'System' icon
3. Select the applicable speaker(s)
4. Locate 'Sound' tab
5. Click on 'Volume Limit'
6. Select preferred volume limit.
